World's first triple-SIM technology for 3G android smartphones.
Earlier days many were very keen when dual SIM supporting phones were announced, as it eradicated the need to own two single SIM supporting cellphones. But still few look tensed as they owned more than two SIM cards and had to forcibly carry atleast two cellphones hoping a release of triple SIM supporting phones. However phones with 3 SIM support were released but were not up to mark in terms of its performance and had no proper 3G support.
MediaTek, a well known supplier of ARM-based processors and baseband solutions has come up with a new technology to support 3 SIM card along with 3G for Android smartphones that aims to solves these issue providing optimum performance. Each SIM will be able to receive & make calls, send SMS, transmit Data and maintain itself in standby mode consuming less battery. All the three SIM can be used simultaneously eliminating the need of switch key to switch beween SIM cards. This multi-SIM functionality can be turned off via middleware included in the platform stack. Hence MediaTek has partnered with LG to make sure this technology gets into market soon offering varied features.
According to MediaTek this technology which has succeeded in overcoming dropped and poor-quality calls provides a high level of stability that will help users take the advantage of multiple tariff plans accordingly, eliminating need to own mutiple cellphones. Smartphones featuring this technology will be out soon. So be ready for it.
