LG brings out thinnest HD LCD display for smartphones
LG brings out full HD smartphone display, the thinnest ever in world.
According to LG press release, their new HD LCD display for smartphones is the thinnest in world with just 2.2mm(0.08 inch) thin, 5.2-inch long with 1920*1080 resolution.
It's even one of the brightest display with 535 nits(the non-SI term of luminance) of maximum brightness. This will be the 5.2inch size display that LG will use with Snapdragon 800 processor in its upcoming G2 smartphone.
This slimmer display would be useful in building lighter interactive devices. The LG has also started working on flexible and non-breakable smartphone display panels that would be even more thinner. Graphene for mobile devices is said to be one more area on which several smartphone giants are working on since graphene is lightest, thinnest and strongest material. Even China's Huawei soon will launch world's thinnest smartphone Ascend P6 just 6.18 mm thick. In this race of making slimmer devices there is lot more smartphones will be still more slimmer no idea what will be the thickness of the slimmest possible?
