A 100 MP camera!
The Institute of Optics and Electronics in china under Chinese Academy of Sciences has successfully developed a 100 MP camera. This light weight camera is only 19.3cm wide and is named as IOE3-Kanban and can be operated in a wide temperature range i.e., from -20 degrees to 55 degree centigrade. It has capability to offer you images with 10,240*10,240 pixels.
This Institute had earlier built a 81 MP camera during 10th Five Year Plan(2001-2005) and now after years of effort they are out with a 100 MP camera.
According to state-run Xinhua, it is highly sensitive and offers high dynamic range hence that will help it get widely implemented in the fields of aerial mapping, city planning and disaster monitoring to extract high-resolution images. it even allows recording. For best performance, the camera uses advanced optical systems, camera control systems along with very high storage space.
However the storage space consumed by a single image will much more than what we see usually in our storage devices. With this user will be able to capture each minute detail of the scenario.
